Last week, a peanut butter product of Trader Joe’s was pulled off its shelf due to link to a salmonella outbreak. And earlier this week, more peanut butter and related products were recalled by food manufacturer Sunland Inc.

Reports have it that the New-Mexico based company has recently expanded its product recall to more brands and stores. In figures, the recall extended to 101 more nut products from numerous stores in 30 states. And among those stores affected by it are Whole Foods Market, Target, Safeway, Fresh & Easy, Harry and David, Sprouts, Heinen’s and Stop & Shop Supermarket Company.

On the other hand, the other products recalled by the manufacturer are almond butter, cashew butter, tahini and blanched and roasted peanut products. Particularly, some of the brands included in the recall are Archer Farms, Naturally More, Serious Food and Sunland.

The recall now includes almond butter, cashew butter, tahini, and blanched and roasted peanut products.

“There is nothing more important to us than the health and safety of our customers, particularly the many families who enjoy our peanut butter everyday,” Sunland, Inc. president and CEO Jimmie Shearer said in the company’s press release. “While FDA, CDC, and State Health Agencies investigate to confirm the cause of illnesses reported, as a precautionary step, we have decided to voluntarily recall our Almond Butter and Peanut Butter products manufactured between May 1, 2012 and September 24, 2012. If you purchased these products, do not eat them. Please return the product to your supermarket for a full refund or dispose of it.”
